For 40 years, I was an engineering professor at Purdue University, the Ohio State University, and Colorado State University-Pueblo. I am now retired. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I convene a group called Pueblo Makes<\/a>, which supports makers of all kinds in Pueblo. I am a member of Pueblo’s Energy Future, the Board of the Southern Colorado Economic Development District<\/a>, and the Board of the Renewable Energy Owners Coalition of America<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In May 2023, my two business partners and I opened The Ethos<\/a>, at 615 East Mesa Avenue, Pueblo, CO. We offer makerspaces, a sober bar, community hall, and commercial kitchen. I am documenting the history of the building, which was built in 1920 and housed Anzick’s Steak House, Strilich’s Lounge, and the Grand Prix. We think we are the fifth owners of the building. <\/p>\n\n\n\n I am part of the team creating Sustainable Pueblo 2050. We have applied for 501(c)(3) status. We have three projects: Clean Air Pueblo, Climate Resilience, and Circular Economies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n During my sabbaticals from the university, I wrote two books, Introduction to Industrial Engineering<\/a> and Probability, Statistics, and Quality Control. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
